IZON REMOTE ROOM MONITOR REVIEW

Feeling you want to be more like James Bond or looking for a video monitoring solution for your home/office? Check out the IZON Remote Room Monitor. This item lets you video monitor any area from your iPhone or iPad over WiFi/3G/4G. Reminding us of the Looxcie and Pico Dolly, the IZON Remote Room Monitor is a very cool new security extension to your iPhone.

Features: IZON Remote Room Monitor :

The IZON Remote Room Monitor is a WiFi-based video camera which enables you to see how things are going at home or practically any place where the camera is placed – using your iPad or iPhone as the control device. Small in build, this item is ideal for homes and offices. Its dimensions are at 2.2×3.2×7.8 inches and weighs about 11.5 ounces only.

Looks and functionality :

IZON Remote Room Monitor is presented in a small, tube-like design. A microphone and small camera is installed which lets you record anything within its view. Because the item has motion and noise sensors, you can also specify when and how it should watch and listen to its environment. This can be done by simply adjusting the sensitivity for noise and motion detection.Installation is simple and quick. Every box of IZON Remote Room Monitor comes with the IZON camera, its half-globe base, 2 screws/wall anchors in case you want to mount it on the wall, USB cable, and of course, the quick start guide. Simply set up the dome and put the IZON on top of it. You can adjust the angles since both items are magnetically connected. After which, use the IZON firmware to connect the gadget to your WiFi network and then the free IZON iPhone/iPad app to control the camera.

Performance and attributes :

When it comes to performance, you can ask nothing else from IZON. It supports up to 1.5Mbps VGA video at 30fps; now that is fluid. You can stream videos over cellular networks (3G/4G) as well as WiFi to your device so you can monitor from literally anywhere. The IZON also has the capability to automatically upload the videos to your personal Stem Cloud account for sharing.

The video quality is highly impressive and makes good adjustments in low light. It can automatically adjust to a broad lighting spectrum yet still preserves the quality of the images and video. The mono audio is at 40Hz – 8 kHz and responds to noise or turbulence levels between 35dB and 95dB. Both noise and motion recording can start approximately 5 seconds prior to the triggering event. It also ends about 5 seconds after such event.

Point to consider :

The IZON Remote Room Monitor doesn’t have night-vision capability since it lacks infrared capabilities, which is essential on these circumstances, so there’s no chance for you to record videos in a very dark place. Nonetheless, this product can detect motion in a room with merely 7.5 watt night-light.
